The Spark Program Model


All Spark productions and programs operate under our unique theater mentorship program model.
Students are carefully matched with experienced adult mentors whom they training, rehearse, and perform side by side with. Students receive dedicated support and guidance throughout the process from these mentors. The mentorship dynamic creates a platform for multi-level learning, facilitating not only growth as a performer, but personal growth and self-confidence as well.

Through workshop style training opportunities offered throughout the year students will experience various training methodologies, while exploring theory and developing foundational skills essential to a theater artist's success.

Intensives are condensed learning opportunities where students have the chance to push themselves and become fully saturated in a specific subject matter. Allowing students to learn, explore, practice, and apply a technique or concept.

Intensives formats vary depending on the subject matter. Often intensives result in a workshop style presentation or innovative performance opportunity, some do not - this varies from intensive to intensive.

Students rehearse and perform alongside professional artists who share their insight, provide supportive coaching and model passion and professionalism for their artistic craft. 

Training doesn't stop just because we are in rehearsal. Practicum Workshops are built into the rehearsal schedule. These curricula are customized for each associated production, to build on techniques and ideas that will be used in rehearsals and performances.

Company Programs are as much about community as they are theater training. Students will benefit from a welcoming support structure!

The Spark Rep Company focuses on the individual artist’s growth through the support of a professional theatrical community. This is not a talent based program, but a program for students looking to see exponential growth as artists and as individuals.

Our Emerging Performers program is geared towards young dancers looking to step into musical theater or young performers who may not be ready for the full commitment of the company musical, but want to be a part of The Spark and begin their training journey.
