The Spark is a regional, educational theater. Our company is made up primarily of non-union professional artists and students considering a career path in theater through higher education.

The Spark in Boulder is seeking lighting designers for our 2025-26 season.
This position is responsible for designing and implementing dynamic lighting looks and effects for the production. This position will work mostly independently to hang and focus from the available lighting set-up; this position requires someone who is experienced cueing on ETC consoles. This position attends pre-production meetings and works with the Director and Stage Manager to meet deadlines. They work closely with the Show Creative & Production Teams to present a unified vision that aligns with the mission and values of The Spark. Artists at The Spark may be asked to step into a mentorship role for certain discussions. Applicants must have experience working with all ages. We are a multi-generational theater.

General Schedule:
Pre-Production Meetings: typically 2 weeks prior to the rehearsal start date
Rehearsals: Typically 1 designer run (the week of tech), 1 tech rehearsal and dress rehearsals. Rehearsal are between 4-6hrs long. Hang/focus/cueing time are scheduled outside of the rehearsal time as needed and as space is available.
This position is ONLY required at select rehearsal hours. This position is NOT required at performances.

The Spark in Boulder is seeking a choreographer for our Fall 2025 production of Disney’s Descendants!
This position requires the ability to create dynamic, interesting choreography for a wide range of ages and experience levels. Hip-hop and musical theater styles will be needed for this production. The choreographer will lead rehearsals to teach and implement all choreography and attend run-thrus and dress rehearsals for notes and finishing touches. The choreographer will collaborate closely with the director, stage manager, and production design team throughout the rehearsal process. Applicants must have experience working with all ages. We are a multi-generational theater.
