The Spark offers a unique theater arts training experience centered around mentorship. All our productions and programs operate under this unique mentorship model, where adult mentors and students collaborate closely, training, rehearsing, and performing side-by-side.

Spark Programs are recommended for students with some previous theater experience and who are generally 10+ years of age. For newer and beginning students ages 5+ years, we recommend checking out programming by our collaborating company; Boulder Performing Arts Company.

We invite you to explore our program model page and review our student qualifications and expectations before registering. Our Spark Admin Staff is always available to provide additional information and assist in best placing your student in the program that will help them achieve their individual goals.

The Spark’s Rep Company is a season long training and performance program for dedicated student performers, paired with professional mentors. Through monthly sessions, students sharpen their audition skills, build performance material, and receive individualized feedback in a supportive, collaborative community of artists. This season our Rep Company will include three exclusive performance opportunities open to Rep Company Students ONLY. This program offers a high-level training experience designed to develop dynamic student performers.

Ride the Cyclone | Rep Company Musical

Auditions for Ride the Cyclone are only available to students in The Spark Rep Company. -- In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life. This popular musical is a funny, moving look at what makes a life well-lived!

Tech Theater Crew offers students of all levels the opportunity to train on a full scale show. Technical skills and knowledge are developed in a 1 day intensive; each production has a new focus, so students are learning something new on each crew! Fall down the rabbit hole with Alice as she navigates the curious world of Wonderland on a journey of self-discovery. This non-musical stage adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic story provides a perfectly wacky opportunity for students to make larger than life character choices.
