STUDENTS are typically in grades k-12, must REGISTER or APPLY as required for the program/production.

OPEN AUDITIONS are for persons 18 years or older, who are out of high school. No program registration is required paid and unpaid positions are available for more information hop over to our Job Opportunities tab.

At The Spark We Hire

The Spark is a regional, educational theater. Our company is made up primarily of non-union professional artists and students considering a career path in theater through higher education. 

The following positions are only available to artists 18 years or older who have completed high school and meet one or more of the eligibility requirements for either the professional or intern artists. Must have the ability and desire to perform alongside students of varying ages and experience levels.

Professional Artists

  • Regional, Touring, Broadway credits or equivalent educational experience (completed graduate degree).
  • Significant Community credits or equilvalent educational experience (completed undergraduate degree or certificate program).
  • Limited Special Appearance Equity contracts available.

Intern Artists

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program.
  • Gaining theater career experience with previous experience and/or education.

Whenever possible we model our payment structure by union policies though we are a non-union theater. We also recognize that many of our artists make their living through their work and we honor that by hiring based on experience and synergy. We also offer unpaid transitional internships for students over the summer between graduating high school and entering a higher learning program.

Sound Designers & Engineers

Seeking Sound Designers & Engineers for Main Stage Productions and Concert Series.

Main Stage Productions - position is responsible for obtaining/creating all sound effects, whether recorded or live for a specific production. They are also responsible for setting up the sound playback equipment and running live sound mixing with recorded tracks, effects, and lav mics for musical theater and plays. *The Spark is a multi-generational theater company, so you must be interested and able to work with students under 18.

Concert Series - position is responsible for setting up the sound playback equipment per our standard stage plot, assisting the performing artist with their equipment load in/out and running live sound mixing for live instrumentation and sometimes recorded tracks.

Next Main Stage Production is Radiam Girls | Winter 2024. Dates will be posted in late fall.

Positions may be filled by one individual or multiple depending upon our applicants and their qualifications.

Compensation:

Main Stage Productions: $100-300 Designer Fee + $200-400 Rehearsal Stipend + $65-$95 per performance | Concert Series & Other Events: $25hrly (min shift is 4hrs max is 8hrs)

Bands, Musicians, DJs for Concert Series

Seeking multiple performing artists for our Concert Series.

Concert Series Dates:

  • Sundays | Sept 17, Nov 12, Dec 17, 2023
  • Sundays | Jan 14, Feb 25, Apr 14, May 26, 2024

Event Schedule:

  • Band arrives/Load In: 3:30pm
  • Sound Check: 4:30pm
  • Doors: 6pm
  • Event Start: 6:30pm
  • Opener:  Yes (by Venue) -OR- Yes (by Artist) -OR- No
  • Opener Set Begins: n/a
  • Headliner Set Begins: 6:30pm (when NO opener)
  • Number & Length of Sets: 2 sets of 45-mins w/ 15-min intermission
  • Load Out: 10pm


The Spark space welcomes 155 audience members in this open air venue. Tickets available in advance and at the door. General Admission Seating and Standing Room Only tickets are available for this event.  Standing Room Only section is located outside along the side of the stage - while this section will be covered if weather requires it - the section may be partially exposed to the elements. Event runs rain or shine. The Spark boasts a 4600sqft venue space that includes a large reception lobby inspired by modern art galleries, two dance studios with sprung floors, and a flexible open-air theater.
